MB&F Legacy Machine N°2: Well, a few weeks ago we introduced the latest creation from MB&F – the Legacy Machine N°2. Now we have had the pleasure of meeting up with MB&F’s Charris Yadigaroglou at Marcus Watches on Bond Street to get physically acquainted with the new LM2. The timepiece features two balance wheels and a dual regulator, which was inspired by world-renowned watchmaker Philippe Dufour. It also features a raised white lacquered dial with 18k gold bright blued hour and minute indicators – as well as a planetary differential, which sits proud of the dial at 6 o’clock. The different layers within this timepiece give it a beautiful depth of field and bring the watch to life.
The Legacy Machine N°2 is a lineal descendent of the LM1, in that it uses the same 44mm traditional case. The dials also look very much the same and the movement designers and finishers remain the same – Jean-Francois Mojon, and Kari Voutilainen, respectively. The only slight difference is the curvature of the domed crystal.
The Dial is absolutely stunning! Although the two oversized balance wheel’s and dual regulator are the major talking points of the LM2, you can’t help but admire the beautifully finished movement through the sapphire case back.
As for 44mm x 20mm dimensions of the Legacy Machine N°2, which we admittedly had reservations about, once on the wrist it felt just right and could easily be an everyday wearer.
Before seeing the watch in person, we really had mixed views about the design in regards to the dial size and domed crystal? However, after our meeting and really getting to grips with the new LM2 it all made sense. When you take a look at the MB&F range hands-on you can really feel the quality and see the little unique touches that have been added into their designs. Just small touches that you don’t even think about until you take a closer look. They are by far not the cheapest watches out there but the quality and thought behind the designs are just immense. Sometimes pictures, regardless of the quality just don’t do enough!
The MB&F Legacy Machine N°2 is available in rose gold and white gold for CHF 138,000. There will also be a limited edition platinum LM2 with blue dial (limited to 18 pieces) which will be sold at CHF 168,000. For more information on the LM2 visit the official MB&F website.
